Self-determination theory, like other psychological theories that study eudaimonia, focuses on general processes of growth and self-realization. An aspect tends to be sidelined in the relevant literature is virtue. We propose special focus needs placed moral virtue its development. review different types motivation argue morally virtuous behavior regulated through integrated regulation. describe process integration how it relates development then discuss what individuals are like, shape their internal system expected take introduce self-concordance. consider why experience eudaimonic well-being. Finally, we address current gap self-determination theory research eudaimonia.
